| Lawmakers To Consider Helmet Law (NBC 17 Raleigh) State lawmakers will consider a bill today that could mean changes for motorcycle riders. House Bill 839 would require anyone under 21 years old to wear a safety helmet for motorcycles and mopeds. Anyone caught not wearing a helmet would be fined $50.
